Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 2

Yarra Yering is one of the oldest and most beautiful vineyards in the Yarra Valley of Victoria, consisting of 28 hectares of vines located at the foot of the Warramate Hills in the Gruyere district of the Yarra Valley. Dr Bailey Carrodus established the winery in 1969 and is credited as one of the driving forces in reviving winemaking in this region.

A wine that is rich, nuanced, and both sweet and savoury. Violets, plums, savoury spices, bramble, and five spice are all mixed together in the scent. The summer pudding fruits are light in weight but come in a variety of hues, which heightens gastronomic intrigue. The mystique is lent by the cigar box and cardamom fragrance. The fruit is supported by strong yet delicate tannins, and structure dominates the palate. With so much to love, this one is difficult to categorise.
