Woodstock Muscat 375ml

Driven by a love for all things sweet and a passion for showcasing the essence of grapes, winemaker Scott Collett began crafting fortified Muscat wines in 1984. He would crush nearly raisined, highly aromatic Muscat and Frontignac grapes at the end of each vintage after the other wines had been made. Pure grape spirit was added early in the fermentation, resulting in a luscious, perfumed wine with around 19% alcohol.

Though the average age of this Muscat is 15 years, the youngest component is 5 years, and the oldest reaches 25 years by bottling. As the wine matures in barrels, it becomes even more decadent, with some evaporating to the "angel’s share," intensifying its caramel and toffee richness. Over time, the colour gently fades, while a touch of younger Muscat is added to revive its fresh, aromatic fruit character.

On the nose, the wine brims with raisin and orange zest, with hints of Christmas pudding peeking through. On the palate, it’s a decadent indulgence—lush, lingering toffee and sweet grape flavours are irresistible to anyone with a sweet tooth. Unfiltered to retain its velvety viscosity, this wine is a rare treat that pairs beautifully with chocolate. Enjoy it alongside butterscotch and date pudding or drizzle it over fruitcake, warm in the microwave, and serve with a dollop of cream or ice cream for the ultimate dessert experience!
