It expresses a diversity of ancient soils and is jam-packed with deep berry fruit, gorgeous tannins, and subtle spice. This wine is a highly distinctive representation of the distinctive grape type grown only in South Africa due to its full maturity at lower alcohol levels, the longer hang-time provided by cooler, more marginal locations, the complex, more traditional fruit aromas and structure, which arise from both granitic and clay-rich soil.
