Singlefile Family Reserve Chardonnay

Hand-harvested and chilled overnight, the fruit was then whole bunch pressed and fermented with a third of the juice in new oak, while the rest matured in one-year-old French oak barriques from Marsannay, Quintessence, and D&J cooperages. After nine months of aging with partial malolactic fermentation, which enhances mouthfeel and richness, the wine underwent weekly lees stirring (bâtonnage) for the first six months. It was then rested before bottling and allowed additional time in the bottle to integrate before release.

This wine presents enticing aromas of intense grapefruit and nectarines, with hints of citrus blossom and subtle oak. On the palate, it reveals a concentrated blend of citrus and stone fruit, complemented by a touch of creaminess and a nutty texture from the partial malolactic fermentation and bâtonnage. The wine is effortlessly full-bodied, striking a delicate balance between fruit and acidity, and finishes with a long, lingering aftertaste. A harmonious blend of power and finesse, it pairs beautifully with rich poultry or creamy shellfish dishes accompanied by sautéed vegetables. Expect it to evolve and gain further complexity over the next five years.
