Reillys Old Bushvine Grenache

The oldest location in our estate vineyards and among the oldest in the Clare Valley wine area is Reillys 1919 Block. To maintain productivity and fruit quality, the site needs skilled viticultural management. With average yields of 1.5T per acre, this site is no exception to the rule that elderly vines have poor yielding crops by nature. With the exception of natural rainfall, these old vines are dry-grown, resulting in deep, sturdy roots that give the plant access to deeper moisture and a wider variety of nutrients and minerals.

This wine has notes of cherry, blackberry, and chocolate along with sweet, elevated aromas of dark fruit, pepper, and licorice. finishing with a smooth mouthfeel, strong tannins, and outstanding palate persistence.
