Pt. Leo Estate Reserve Chardonnay

A very delicate and restrained approach, with wood and fruit in perfect balance. Aromas begin quietly and gradually build layer after layer of peach, grapefruit, oyster shell, nectarine, biting flint, and oatmeal-scented oak, with a hint of European delicatessen tossed in. It becomes dry and creamy, but is held together by a faint acid line. The palate is powerful and intense, with layers of mineral, citrous fruit, white peach, and nutty, woody notes. Very wonderful mouthfeel and length. Roasted cashew flavours shine through on a lengthy, silky finish. Lovely wine to drink for the next five years.
