Pressing Matters' Rieslings are inspired by the classic Mosel style but showcase the unique brilliance that Tasmanian Rieslings can achieve.
The vineyard features carefully selected clones—D2V3, 198GM, F8V13, and 239GM—planted on their own roots at a high density of 5,000 vines per hectare.
Their Rieslings are crafted with four distinct levels of residual sugar, beautifully reflected in the labels:
- R0 (very dry)
- R9 (dry)
- R69 (medium sweet)
- R139 (sweet)
This thoughtful range captures the essence of each sweetness level, offering something exceptional for every palate.
This delightful sweet wine, affectionately known as "sticky" and labelled as R139 in the range, offers a beautifully balanced profile. The rich residual sugar is perfectly elevated by the vibrant acidity, a hallmark of our terroir-driven Rieslings. The result is a wine that harmoniously blends sweetness with refreshing liveliness.
"Pristine dessert riesling of crystalline structure, pitch-perfect purity and jubilant persistence. Acidity is the game for all sweet wines, declaring its greatness here in an ice-pick of frozen wild lemon and lime juice. Boiled lolly sweetness has been perfectly gauged to almost (but not quite) meet it in the middle, which is just as it should be. Great persistence and never-ending endurance." - 95/100 Halliday Wine Companion
