MMAD Blewitt Springs Grenache

Gaining access to a vineyard planted in 1939 is no easy task, but MMAD has created a wine that truly expresses the nuances possible from such old vines. The first thing you notice are raspberries, which remind you of those small lollies you used to get at the milk bar. The nose then reveals plum, strawberry, and a hint of meatiness and white pepper. The acidity and minerality are lively, and the palate is silky and smooth. A fantastic wine. As if Shaw + Smith's Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith MW weren't already overworked. Their new venture, MMAD Vineyard, was created in collaboration with their chief winemaker Adam Wadewitz and wine industry professional David LeMire MW.
