Mitchelton The Secret Release Shiraz

This Shiraz was initially made as a Premium $70 Wine to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Ross Shelmerdine’s vision. However recent floods at the winery damaged the labels & packaging (prior to bottling), and the winery decided it could not go ahead and release this wine.

Long story short- Purvis Cellars bought these dormant bottles and Secret Release Shiraz was born.  As members, you are the beneficiaries and have the first choice on this uncovered find!

This shiraz has oaky, vanilla notes that works nicely with both soft plum-shot fruit and savoury elements. It's a medium-to-full-bodied, warming red with supple tannins and minerally notes that cling to the edges. It's a bright, fresh red, with a structured core designed to mature considerably more. A long life in the cellar is in store or enjoy with Rolled lamb saddle, labneh cheese, harissa, pickled onion, herb salad.
