About This Wine:

A beautifully fresh and vibrant expression of Aligoté from Burgundy, proving that this once-overlooked grape is anything but second fiddle to Chardonnay. With Pascal Marchand at the helm, this wine is pure, precise, and full of energy—far too elegant to be lost in a Kir! A lively interplay of citrus and green apple unfolds with a touch of spice, leading into a silky, creamy finish. Its thirst-quenching acidity makes it a perfect foil for the rich, butter-laden delights of classic Burgundian cuisine. Pascal Marchand is a small producer with a big reputation. A Canadian poet turned Burgundian vigneron, he arrived in the region at just 21, making his mark as winemaker at Domaine du Comte Armand, Clos des Epeneaux in 1985. A firm believer in organic viticulture, he carried this philosophy through his tenure at Domaine de la Vougeraie before launching his own label in 2006. With the backing of Canadian financier Moray Tawse, his vision expanded, adding vineyards—including the historic Maume estate in Gevrey-Chambertin. Today, his 8 hectares of biodynamically farmed vines, along with carefully sourced organic fruit, produce wines of remarkable purity, depth, and Burgundian soul.
