Claude and Hervé lead Domaine Lucien Muzard, continuing a heritage spanning nine generations. Their stewardship extends over 16 hectares across Santenay, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Pommard, with roots tracing back to 1645. Since assuming control in 1995, the estate shifted from selling to négociants to bottling on-site. While red wine dominates production at 95%, white wines are steadily gaining esteem with each passing vintage.
With hues ranging from greeny-gold to canary yellow, sometimes hinting at bronze with age, the wine's appearance is luminous with occasional silvery highlights. Its bouquet is vibrant, boasting ripe grape aromas and nuanced notes of toasted almonds, hazelnuts, and a floral minerality of mayflower, elder, bracken, lime, and verbena, underscored by hints of flint. Butter, honey, and citrus fruits contribute to its complexity.
On the palate, it exudes richness and finesse, with a delightful hazelnut character balanced by unctuousness and freshness. Long and structured, it begs for cellaring, promising a rewarding aging journey. This great white wine exemplifies the epitome of elegance and sophistication.
