Vincent Laval's family has deep roots in the village of Cumières, dating back to the earliest village records hundreds of years ago. Laval’s two hectares are situated in Cumières on the northern bank of the Marne, just a few kilometres west of Épernay. The south/southeast-facing vineyards receive ample sun exposure, making Cumières the first village in Champagne to ripen. Although part of the Montagne de Reims, its proximity to the Vallée de Marne allows Pinot Meunier to thrive here.
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Georges Laval converted the vineyards to organic farming. Vincent Laval's cellar approach is hands-off, with base wines fermenting spontaneously in neutral barrels and minimal sulphur usage. Laval bottles are quite late, essentially creating a finished wine before the second fermentation begins. Almost all his wines are bottled Brut Nature, with the ripeness of the terroir and meticulous farming ensuring exquisite balance without dosage.
Experience the magic of Vincent Laval with this truly unique champagne. A blend of 50% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Noir, and 25% Pinot Meunier from premier cru vineyards in Cumières, this champagne is no dosage, laser-focused, and incredibly complex.
