Under the stewardship of Dr Michael Peterkin of Pierro since 1998, Fire Gully's vineyard thrives as one of the most picturesque and unique sites on the Cape. With a philosophy of hands-on viticulture and meticulous winemaking, we transform premium fruit into beautifully balanced wines that capture the essence of their terroir. Each Fire Gully wine is handcrafted at our sister winery, Pierro, by a highly skilled and experienced team - resulting in a portfolio of classic Margaret River wines that speak of place, purity, and passion. Hand-picked, carefully sorted, and fermented as whole berries in open fermenters, this Shiraz undergoes gentle hand-plunging and 14 days on skins before aging in oak barriques for 12 months. Deep crimson with a dark red hue, it offers an alluring bouquet of black cherry and liquorice, layered with vanillin cedar, scorched earth, and a hint of black pepper. The palate is lush and generous, bursting with juicy dark plum, liquorice, and black cherry, supported by elegant oak spice and a savoury, peppered finish. A bold yet beautifully balanced expression of Margaret River Shiraz.
