About This Wine:

Grafted onto own-rooted Cabernet vines planted in 1999, this Gamay flourishes in a dynamic terroir of black cracking clay, interspersed with submerged volcanic pebbles and boulders at one end and a more friable, chocolate-hued soil at the other. The vineyard yielded its first fruit in 2014, marking the beginning of an expressive and characterful wine.

Hand-picked and meticulously sorted in the vineyard, the grapes are placed as whole bunches into tank, where they undergo a natural fermentation and are sealed for 10 days to develop lifted carbonic fruit aromas. Foot stomping follows, with gentle pressing on days 11 and 12 before the wine is transferred into five-year-old barrels to complete fermentation. After eight months of maturation, it is bottled with its purity and vibrancy intact.

The nose is bright and fruit-forward at first, gradually revealing layers of wild berries, earth, and subtle gamey nuances. The palate bursts with red berry fruits, balanced by savoury undertones and a finely woven structure. Vibrant acidity and well-defined tannins lend length and depth, while the lingering finish speaks to the wine’s complexity and finesse.
