About This Wine:

Germans have a long history of producing sparkling wines, and some of the most significant Champagne firms, like Deutz or Krug, were founded by Germans. The fact that we have recently become more interested in sparkling wines and respect this tradition is therefore not surprising. My order arrived in good time, without issues. In contrast to serving a Champagne as usual, I served this sparkling Riesling as the aperitif wine at a lunch with nine friends. All thought it well made, dry, interesting, with good bead. However, I think one of our number summarised the consensus in suggesting that compared to Champagne it was ‘a bit boring’.
