Dead Man Walking Clare Valley Riesling

The smells of peach, guava, and ruby grapefruit are abundantly present in the riesling, along with floral top notes of apple blossom and elderflower.

White peach, orange, and Limoncello enrich the palate, which has a smooth texture and rich flavour.

Tom Kies, who according to James Halliday has a gothic name, came up with Dead Man Walking. Tom's philosophy in life is to "don't put it off, procrastinate, or leave it until it's too late." Because even though Tom was endowed with remarkable winemaking skills, a passion for wine, and enormous fervour for life, the creation of this label and the 2016 release of the first wine were crucial parts of his courageous but ultimately fruitless nine-year fight against colon cancer. As loyal family friends, the Hughes have assumed control of Dead Man Walking to carry out Tom's winemaking mission while simultaneously funding the education of his two sons by putting a portion of the earnings from each bottle's sale into a trust.
