Coates Adelaide Hills The Chardonnay

Coates Adelaide Hills Chardonnay has been a beloved mainstay since 2009, epitomizing our Reserve style with 15+ months of oak aging in predominantly new barrels. In 2015, they introduced two distinct styles: The Reserve Chardonnay and The Chardonnay. The Chardonnay is a single-vineyard gem from the Adelaide Hills, aged for 11 months in barrel with a lower proportion of new oak compared to The Reserve. Harvested in two stages, the fruit achieves a delightful balance of zesty notes, taut acidity, and mid-palate depth. With winemaking experience in Burgundy, Duane brings a traditional French approach with a hint of modernist Burgundian flair to The Chardonnay.
