Steeped in centuries of winemaking tradition, the Barton Sartorius family revitalized a historic estate in August 2011, renaming it Château Mauvesin Barton. Each family member infuses their unique expertise into the venture, perpetuating a legacy that harmoniously blends passion, environmental stewardship, and an unwavering commitment to exceptional wine quality.
The estate's younger vines are meticulously handpicked, ensuring only the finest grapes proceed to fermentation. These selected grapes undergo a controlled fermentation and maceration process in temperature-regulated stainless steel vats. The wine then embarks on a 12 to 15-month aging journey in French oak barrels, one-third of which are new, all resting atop a gravel bed designed to perfectly regulate humidity.
On the nose, the wine enchants with aromas of black cherries and mulberries, accented by hints of liquorice and dried orange peel. Medium-bodied, it boasts a silky texture complemented by firm, slightly chewy tannins. The structured and compact palate reveals succulent fruit flavours that evolve into a lingering finish, enriched by savoury undertones.
59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc.
