About This Wine:

Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard White Bones Chardonnay is one of Argentina's most celebrated Chardonnays, sourced from the renowned Adrianna Vineyard in the high-altitude Gualtallary. Named after the ancient fossilised limestone deposits, or "white bones", found beneath the vineyard, this extraordinary wine is a benchmark for purity, minerality and precision.

Grown in the cool, elevated vineyards of the Tupungato Alto region, the fruit undergoes a gentle cold settling before a slow, wild yeast fermentation lasting up to three months. The wine is matured for 12 to 16 months in second-, third- and fourth-use French oak barrels, preserving the vineyard's crystalline expression while adding subtle texture. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, it is a true reflection of site and vintage.

The bouquet is captivating and distinctive, revealing aromas of green apple, citrus zest and white peach alongside notes of green curry leaf, spearmint, crushed stone, ash and delicate tropical nuances. The palate is intense and beautifully sculpted, combining concentrated fruit with remarkable mineral tension and vibrant acidity.

Powerful yet effortlessly elegant, the wine finishes exceptionally long, dry and saline, with layer upon layer of chalky minerality and citrus freshness. A profound and thought-provoking Chardonnay, White Bones stands among the world's finest expressions of the variety, offering extraordinary complexity, precision and exceptional cellaring potential.
