Bannockburn Shiraz

Crafted from a blend of estate-grown fruit meticulously nurtured across our revered vineyards, ranging from the time-honored vines planted in 1974 to the more recent additions in 2007, Bannockburn Shiraz embodies the essence of tradition and innovation. Spanning the historic Range vineyard, the storied Winery Block, and the modern allure of De La Roche, each parcel contributes its unique character, reflecting a diverse clonal mix featuring PT23, R6WV28, and the esteemed 'Best's Old Block'.

Handpicked with utmost care, the fruit undergoes separate wild fermentations, with approximately 10% undergoing whole bunch fermentation, including a portion of carbonic maceration for added depth. Following gentle pressing, the wine is nurtured in a selection of hogsheads and puncheons, with a subtle 10% new oak influence. Maturation unfolds over 10 months, undisturbed, before transferring to 1200-liter old oak vats for an additional 6 months, allowing the wine to evolve and integrate harmoniously.

Born from a cool season, this Shiraz presents a fragrant expression of medium-bodied cool climate elegance. Aromas of red fruits, briny olives, black pepper, and spice captivate the senses, while a fine structure and tannin profile lend sophistication and depth. The palate is enlivened by a refreshing finish, boasting good persistence and leaving a lasting impression of purity and finesse.
